Messy Church

Although we cannot meet in person for Messy Church until the building reopens, we encourage all messy households to use the resources for August here on the theme of
God vs water.

Here's a message from Kate:

First of all, I do hope that you are enjoying some time out over the summer. I know it's a challenge to take holiday when restrictions still apply, but the last few months have been exhausting for just about everyone, so I hope you are managing to find some ways of stopping and relaxing. Over the coming weeks we will be reviewing what we are able to do in church as the government guidelines develop. We'd love to think that we will be meeting back in the hall for Messy Church from October, but we'll be in touch about that in due course. So in the meantime, here is a session on water to enjoy at home.

This is my final week before I go on maternity leave next Sunday. My role will be covered by Revd Sarah Archer and I know she will look forward to getting to know you over this coming year. I will look forward to messy worship, craft and fun on my return next September! Take care all of you, and stay safe and well.

The Bishop of London has written a letter to children in London here.

Messy Church takes place at St Alban’s on the first Sunday of most months from 4-6pm in the
Church Hall.

We love welcoming children with their families and carers to this,  some who travel a fair distance to be with us.

Every time the structure is the same:

  • we do a wide variety of craft activities for an hour & 10 mins,
  • then we move into church for an informal time of worship with story-telling and singing,
  •  then we come back into the hall for tea for everyone.

We have had themes of the true vine, Moses,  Joseph & his multi-coloured  coat and Noah, plus all the more recent themes below.
