Lee Abbey Youth Camp

I would really like to recommend the Lee Abbey Youth Camp 9-16 August 2025 (Sat-Sat) for our young people for next summer. The camps run on the camp field at the bottom of the hill from Lee Abbey itself.

Here's a video to give you a taster!

There will also be an adult programme running at Lee Abbey at the same time as the camp, so if parents want to stay at Lee Abbey or in the Beacon Centre while their children are on camp they can do so. The house has a separate programme for 0-16 year olds during the morning session (although 0-3s is from 10.00-11.30am only), so if your child isn’t yet old enough for camp, or would prefer to stay in the house they can still come along and find plenty to enjoy.

Prices quoted on the website are fully inclusive so it makes it easier to budget.

I have visited the camp several times while I was on community and it always looked like the young people were having a great time. While their safeguarding practices are excellent, Lee Abbey is pretty car-free so children can enjoy a freedom that they rarely encounter at home and that’s a big reason why children and young people seem to love it so much.

Transport to Lee Abbey can be discussed later, but there is a great coach (and taxi) service available from Taunton to Lee Abbey which costs just £20 each way so you prefer not to drive that’s an option too.

Do check out this page on the website which should give you more information, but do speak to Irene Lawrence, our Curate as she knows Lee Abbey too.
