A baptism is also known as a christening. Everyone is welcome to have their child baptised in their parish church.
There are about 10,000 babies and children baptised in the Church of England every year, and each newly baptised person joins a family of 2 million baptised people around the world.
In bringing children for baptism, parents make a decision to start their child on a lifelong journey of faith. Parents and godparents promise to support the child on their journey of faith. The church welcomes the newly baptised and also promises to pray for them.
We also welcome adults who want to be baptised. We always work with either parents or adult baptism candidates to talk through the service and to prepare for this very special celebration.
Please contact either the vicar or the parish office to talk further about baptism.
