Unless otherwise stated our meetings take place at 2pm in the St Martins room on the third Tuesday in the month. We start with a short Worship session which is usually followed by a speaker and then tea at 3pm. We also have a Corporate Communion Service at 10am on the first Tuesday in the month in Church.
The Mothers' Union at St Alban's is part of a worldwide organisation
numbering over 3.6 million members in 79 countries. Our aim is to keep our Christian faith central to all that we do and to help those around us in need. We have five Objectives:
1. To uphold Christ's teaching on the nature of marriage and promote its wider understanding.
2. To encourage parents to bring up their children in the faith and life of the Church.
3. To maintain a worldwide fellowship of Christians united in prayer, worship and service.
4. To promote conditions in society favourable to stable family life and the protection of children.
5. To help those whose family life has met with adversity.
At St Alban's we have 34 members and would welcome anyone who is interested, to join us at any of our meetings. The branch leader is Polly Porter, click here if you wish to email Polly. The Treasurer is Jean Baguley and the secretary's job is shared by Diana Melbourne and Sheila Fowler. These and any other member would be very willing to speak to anyone about Mothers' Union.
