Bells pic 2

Information about St Alban’s Church Bells  Our Church Bells which are pealed on special occasions such as Christmas and often at weddings can be heard in most of the parish. The chime of eight bells is rung by a single campanologist from the clavier or control console in the bell tower and is one of less than 40 of this type in working order in the U.K. Our bells were hung when the Church was completed in 1937 and are showing signs of wear, four years ago we were advised by the foundry who examined them to have them thoroughly overhauled.

We hope to apply to a Trust Fund for up to half of the full cost–which is likely to be between £10,000 and £12,000 plus VAT. As a condition of application for funds we need to demonstrate that we are fundraising towards the cost. The PCC has agreed to the establishment of a specific Fund for this purpose.
