Fair Trade

A great success in North Harrow!
We expected 20 people and got 120! We distributed 20
kilos of Fairtrade bananas to all, including passing bus
drivers at the stop outside our church. We sold banana
cake, muffins, biscuits, milk shakes, as well as Traidcraft
goods to passers by. Our Vicar, Revd Joan Foster wore a
banana coloured jacket and dog collar. We got the
Fairtrade message across, as well as discovering a new
type of community event which everyone greatly enjoyed.

We have committed to:
1. Using Fairtrade Tea and Coffee after services and for all meetings which we have responsibility.
2. Move forward on using other Fairtrade products such as sugar, chocolate and fruit.
3. Promoting `Fairtrade Fortnight' and fair trade throughout the year through events, worship and other activities.
'The fields of the poor may produce abundant food but injustice sweeps it away.' Proverbs 13:23.
